The Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC Ghana) was honored to participate in the panel discussion on “Closing the Digital Divide: Advancing AI Literacy,” organized by Thrive and Shine on February 12, 2026, at the World Bank Group Office.

The engagement brought together education stakeholders, development partners, and digital innovation advocates to reflect on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and STEM education can be leveraged to bridge inequities within Ghana’s education system. The conversation reinforced a shared commitment to ensuring that AI and STEM education become powerful tools for expanding access, strengthening skills development, and reaching underserved learners particularly those in rural and marginalized communities.
During the program, GNECC’s National Coordinator delivered a compelling address, emphasizing the need for equity, system readiness, teacher capacity development, and child-centered implementation in advancing AI literacy. The speech underscored that while digital transformation presents immense opportunities, intentional policies and inclusive strategies are critical to prevent widening existing gaps.

As advocates for quality and equitable pre-tertiary education, GNECC reaffirmed its commitment to championing inclusive, future-ready education that equips every child with the competencies needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
