GNECC Convenes Stakeholders to Validate Findings on Foundational Learning and the 2026 Examination Results

On 9 September 2026, the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) convened a validation meeting to review research findings on foundational learning opportunities in Ghana’s basic schools and the outcomes of the 2026 national examinations.

The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry of Education and its agencies, civil society organisations, education partners, and other key stakeholders, including data collectors from the eight (8) regions, ICDP Ghana, Chance for Childhood, Africa Education Watch (Eduwatch), Sabre Education, Africa Dyslexia, and Luminous Funds. The diverse participation reflected a shared commitment to strengthening Ghana’s education system and improving learning outcomes for every child.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman of GNECC welcomed participants and reaffirmed the Coalition’s commitment to advancing quality and inclusive education through research, evidence-based advocacy and stakeholder engagement. He also highlighted the importance of ensuring that children with special educational needs and disabilities are not left behind in efforts to improve educational outcomes.

Participants actively engaged in presentations, discussions and group work to review and validate the research findings presented. The meeting provided an important platform for stakeholders to share their perspectives, experiences and insights on the issues affecting foundational learning and examination outcomes in Ghana.

The validation meeting forms part of GNECC’s ongoing efforts to promote evidence-based dialogue and advocacy towards quality, equitable and inclusive education for all learners in Ghana.
