Head Prefect of the Winneba Presbyterian Junior High School, Perry Adu-Ayew is appealing for the renovation of the school’s classroom block to befit the status of a Junior High School.

Perry Adu-Ayew also wants the speedy construction of the school’s ICT block which is still in the foundation stage for years now.

He made the call at the celebration of this year’s Global Action Week on Education organized by the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition, GNECC.

“I would also wish that a library is built and furnished with present-day textbooks for us to enhance our reading skills. I pray that the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition, (GNECC) will quickly come to our aid and if possible extend it to other schools in the municipality with a focus on innovation and sustainable approaches to education that can drive societal change. - He indicated.

The head prefect also used the occasion to appeal to the government to provide the school with textbooks, accommodation facility for teachers and ensure easy increased access to basic education for girls in the municipality

The Global Action Week on Education is a week-long event dedicated to advocating for the provision of quality education worldwide. This year's global theme, "Transformative Education," emphasizes the need for educational systems to evolve and adapt to the changing demands of society. In Ghana, the celebration will be tailored under the local theme "Strengthening the Structures for Transformative Education in Ghana: The Way Forward," with a specific focus on enhancing educational structures, including infrastructure and education budgeting.
