GNECC at the Forefront of Expanding Access Through Revised CBE Curriculum

GNECC, led by the National Coordinator, was proud to be part of the Steering Committee at the launch of the revised Complementary Basic Education (CBE) Curriculum and learning materials, organized by the Complementary Education Agency in collaboration with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. This marks a significant step toward expanding access to inclusive, flexible, and quality education for out-of-school children across Ghana.

The revised CBE curriculum is a timely intervention aimed at addressing learning poverty and bridging gaps for children who have been left out of the formal education system. By providing relevant, accelerated, and learner-centered pathways, the program continues to play a critical role in reintegrating out-of-school children into mainstream education and equipping them with foundational skills for lifelong learning.

GNECC’s participation on the Steering Committee reflects its ongoing commitment to influencing policies and program that prioritize equity, inclusion, and quality in education delivery. This milestone further highlights the importance of strong partnerships among government agencies, civil society, and development partners in designing and implementing responsive education interventions.

As implementation begins, GNECC calls for sustained investment, effective coordination, and robust monitoring to ensure that the intended outcomes of the revised curriculum are fully realized. Particular attention must be given to teacher preparedness, availability of teaching and learning materials, and support systems that will enable learners to transition successfully.

GNECC remains resolute in its advocacy to ensure that every child—regardless of background or circumstance has access to meaningful learning opportunities and is not left behind.
